The Rock of Cashel
Just a fifteen minute drive from our home, this is one of the most visited sites in Ireland. It is a group of spectacular medieval buildings set on top of an outcrop of limestone. The buildings include a round Tower, High cross and a Romanesque chapel and all this in the magnificent golden Vale…a must see!

Cahir Castle and The Swiss Cottage
Just a 20 minute drive from out home this is an imposing 13th -15th structure which was designed to be a defensive castle. It is a great favourite with children but there may be access problems for the disabled. A beautiful walk down beside the river suir you will bring you to the fairytale Swiss Cottage built in the 18th century a lovely place to see and relax.
Kilcooley Abbey
Just a ten minute drive to this beautiful unspoilt abbey set in rolling country side.
Holy Cross Abbey
A beautiful restored abbey in the lovely village of Holycross.
Wexford
The main attractions of Wexford are also within easy drive of my home and another must see! It is a county with beautiful beaches and countryside.
Dunbrody famine ship
Located alongside the New Ross docks the Dunbrody Famine ship is a full scale replica of the original ship which transported emigrants to North Americia. You can go on board and meet “real” people who travelled on the ship and even search for your distant relatives using the onboard database.
Waterford
The main attraction in Waterford City has to be the Waterford Crystal visitor centre, again a must see for all our visitors.
